Dr. Lee was raised in Lexington, South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the College of Charleston. In 2017, she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina as the First Honor Graduate and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.

Following dental school, Dr. Lee was recruited and retained as faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. She was hired as an Instructor in the Division of Oral Medicine and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2019. In 2018, after her first year on faculty, she won the Outstanding New Professor Award. She also treated patients at MUSC Dental Faculty Practice.

After two years as a general practitioner and educator, Dr. Lee moved to Seattle for her residency in Endodontics at the University of Washington. She received her Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry in August 2021.

Dr. Lee is a member of the Richmond Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. She is pursuing Board Certification in Endodontics.

In her spare time, Melinda enjoys discovering new restaurants, spending times outdoors, and seeing new places. She is excited to explore the RVA food scene and all of the beautiful nature the region has to offer.
